Board of Commissioners
The Worth Park District Board of Commissioners is a 5-member board elected to represent the community’s best interest. The responsibility of the Board is to set policy and to follow the mission, vision and core values to guide the Park District. Board members serve a six-year term and receive no compensation for the time they give. The Board members come from a variety of backgrounds but share one common trait: a commitment to serving the park and recreation needs of the community.
Park District Board Meetings are held monthly on the 3rd Thursday of each month at the Terrace Centre, 11500 S. Beloit, Worth. The Committee of the Whole Meeting begins at 6:00 p.m. and the Regular Meeting at 7:00 p.m. The public is encouraged to attend.
Congratulations to the Worth Park District Board of Commissioners who were all recognized for their achievements through the Illinois Association of Park Districts (IAPD) Board Member Development Program on January 25, 2025.
The IAPD Board Member Development Program is open to board members from IAPD member agencies. The program gives recognition to local board members who consistently go above and beyond the call of duty through committee involvement, attendance at continuing educational opportunities and achievements at the local, state and national levels.
The Board was recognized at the IAPD Annual Business Meeting at the IAPD/IPRA Conference on January 25. Board President Mike McElroy was recognized for achieving the Master Level, and Don Dambek, Rebecca Roberts, Kari Lynn Fickes and Melissa Nagel were recognized at the Distinctive Level.

The Worth Park District was recognized at the Illinois Park and Recreation Conference in being named an Illinois Distinguished Park & Recreation Agency. Park District board and staff attended the conference luncheon to receive this great honor.
